FALL & WINTER of 2011/12 – Watson Updates, Volume 6

Dear Friends and family,

It's been six months going on forever since we've had a chance to send out a letter, life gets busy from September to May for us teachers. Don't worry, summer is just around the corner and we should be able to pester you more consistently with family news then. Our biggest update, other than every marvelous growth milestone Cecilia hits, is that Abby is pregnant again! Our surprise should be here in the beginning of September! Wow, life moves fast. Abby's Playhouse (unofficial) is going great. Cecilia has gotten to spend her first year at home with mom and a few other infants and toddlers, depending on the day. The dad unit has been scrambling to finish up a Master's degree and still fulfill fatherly and husbandly duties, not to mention still teaching Spanish & ESL full time in Evansville. Teaching summer school and writing a thesis are really all that separate us from making millions of dollars.

Since our last publication, we spent a wonderful fall filled with Wolverine and Badger football games, Ceci's first Xmas (half in Wisconsin and half in Georgia) and a Spring Break sojourn to the Twin Cities visiting friends Kelly, Josh, Anna, and their new one Caleb Sol. Speaking of babies, lots of mini humans in our lives: congratulations go out to the Watsons (Beckham), the Welter Jennerjohns (Caleb Sol), the Kerrs (Bennet), the Hirshes (Sydney), and the Jacobs (Judah). By the time of next publishing we are looking forward to perhaps a little Johnson, a Buckingham, an Ecker, a Pokallus, a Weinkauf, a Bell, and two Wenkers! We are blessed with many new beginnings in our lives, and also an ending: my dad Timmer turned in his trowel after working 25 years for Kraft/Oscar Mayer and has been busily tinkering to his hearts' content. More parental congratulations go out to Jerry and Kathy Weinkauf who celebrated 40 years of matrimony with a trip to Oahu.

Since the last time we wrote you, Brother Brett has traversed all of Central and most of South America on his two-wheeler, and will finish his epic trek at the end of May. Though he has been keeping us well-informed via his blog, conbigotes.com, we are looking forward to giving him hugs and hearing of his adventures in person back in Mad-Town.

New: Summer school bilingual teacher, classroom SMART board. Likes: Badger B-ball into the Sweet 16, Spring Break, family bikerides and hikes, upcoming camping season!

Cecilia
New: Baptism, 1 yr birthday, two front teeth, crawling, standing, 2 haircuts. Sign vocabulary: "more", "down", "milk". Oral vocabulary: "ball", "da-da", "Wu" (Rudy), "peekaboo", "Sadie", "bath". Likes: Hanging out w/ friends Jake & Sadie, stuffed piggie and duck, any music (but still prefers Fleetwood Mac), bananas, Peekaboo Barn, Yummy Yucky.

New: Greying beard, grassy back yard to play in. Likes: Two-hour walks with kids & mom, bus-stop pick-ups, Ceci's leftovers.
